Today we finished another window screen repair job in Oak Park. The client called us because she had a few screens around her home that were old and getting a bit brittle. We offer a rescreen service that comes to you and does it onsite.
When we rescreen old aluminum screen frames we try to get them as straight as possible for the best fit. Sometimes frames are bent but can be repaired and used again, if you do need to replace one, we measure and make them onsite as well. All our work is guaranteed and we only use the highest quality materials available.
Working on a newer home today in Thousand Oaks I replaced a screen door that had the handle broken. They walked right into it and bent the frame right in the center, this is the most fragile area of the screen frame because the holes that ore slotted into the handle area.
I made them a new extruded aluminum sliding screen that comes with all metal parts, handle rollers, corners amd lock latch. I also give a 10 year guarantee on all parts and installation. I service: Thousand Oaks, Lynn Ranch, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Agoura Hills, Lake Shearwood, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Conejo Valley, Moorpark, Happy Camp, Santa Rosa, Pleasant Valley, Simi Valley, Woodranch, Woodland Hills, Westhills, Calabasas, Oxnard and Ventura
There are a few things you need to check on your porch screens in order to do a proper screen repair. For the aluminum frame on the sliding screen doors to slide good it will need to have no roller hardware problems. The best are the copper wheels, they are long lasting and usually have sealed bearings which don’t allow dirt from the backyard pool area to oxidize them.
Next you will need to check the fiberglass insect screening. When working with mesh on sliding doors pet screen is what I recommend, this stuff is so strong you can barely cut it with a knife. Just make sure the spline is on tight and almost nothing will rip it. Try not to use the regular wire mesh used on windows as it was intended to be a bugscreen and not to be used by dogs, cats, kids and people touching it.
